MSDGC Muddy Creek WWTP Blower Energy Efficiency Upgrades

    March 9, 2026 by
    Bedrock Engineering

This energy-efficiency initiative focused on modernizing the aeration system at Muddy Creek WWTP, a critical component of the plant’s biological treatment process. The project replaced aging equipment with four new 250 HP turbo blowers, resulting in substantial energy savings and improved process control.

As lead engineer and engineer of record, Robert directed the detailed design of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, ensuring full compliance with MSDGC standards. The upgradeTd system utilized Rockwell ControlLogix PLCs for process control and GE Proficy/iFIX SCADA systems for advanced operational monitoring.

During construction, Robert actively managed construction administration activities and collaborated closely with contractors and commissioning teams. He provided direct support during system checkout and startup, ensuring seamless integration of the new blower systems and achieving measurable energy savings for MSDGC.
